San Diego County Condo For Sale

Established in 1968, Old Town historic park commemorates the early days of the town of San Diego, including many historic buildings from the period 1820 to 1870. A popular tourist attraction, numerous museums and restaurants can be found there. In 2005 and 2006, California state parks listed Old Town San Diego as the most visited state park in California. Part of the popularity surrounding Old Town maybe its connection with the supernatural. The Whaley House, El Fandango restaurant, and the El Campo Santo cemetery, all located within Old Town, have all been reported as being haunted.

El Fandango Restaurant

Built on a site of the Machado home that was destroyed by fire in 1858, it is said to be haunted by a ghost called the 'White Lady'. Seen multiple times sitting at tables, moving around the restaurant, and even passing through walls, it is believed that one of the women of the Machado family was killed in the fire of 1858 and still haunts the site. Maria Antonia Machado de Silva who in 1846, while U.S. forces captured San Diego, saved the Mexican flag from the center of the plaza. The 'White Lady' is always seen with a sad or angry expression on her face. Because of her demeanor, certain comparisons have been made to the Mexican legend of La Llorona. But, no evidence exists to prove that she is harmful in any way.
