What the vacationer gets is a rugged 4,350 feet of vertical terrain, with plenty of room for amiable cruising skiers and snowboarders and powder hound experts alike.

Lone Mountain Dominates Big Sky

The lifts and runs for these resorts criss-cross beneath stark treeless, almost Matterhorn-like Lone Mountain. Below is a pedestrian-oriented mountain village with hotel, condo and cabin lodging in every price range. Small wonder it is popular with families as well as multi-generational groups that can share a large house or condo without taking out a small-business loan.
