Magnum Trojan Condoms

Is it strong? Is it reliable? Does it come in a Thin or Wide? Are the textured ones as good as the plain ones? Which ones are leaky? These are valid questions about condoms. Each manufacturer claims it makes the best products, of course, but here are the results of some independent testing done by a non-profit organization.

Strength, Reliability and Leakage are Important Factors

In 2009, Consumers Union (publishers of Consumer Reports) tested 20 latex condoms in their independent laboratory. They found that all but four had excellent reliability and strength, while seven failed submersion tests which checked for leakage. The only Night Light condom tested was the Glow in the Dark version, and it received poor marks in all three categories. Certain Durex, LifeStyles and Trojan varieties received excellent ratings in all three tests.

Thin, Wide and Textured Condoms

Five textured condom varieties were tested, including three Trojans, one Durex and one LifeStyles. The Pleasuremax, Magnum Twister and Triple Pleasure did not perform well, but Her Pleasure Ecstasy and Ultra Ribbed Ecstasy excelled.

The five wider condoms tested included three Durex and two Trojans. In this category, the Pleasuremax and Magnum Twister both had disappointing results. The Magnum Twister showed some leakage and the Pleasuremax did not meet reliability criteria.
