Condo Pacific Palisades

In the midst of blaring car horns, suffocating smog, and blinding lights, it's easy to miss the fact that Los Angeles is home to some gorgeous hiking trails. From the Hollywood Hills to the beaches of Malibu, there is indeed a wealth of trails to be explored within city limits; each with its own unique character. You can find sweeping ocean views or mesmerizing shots of the urban sprawl below you. No matter which kind of hiking trail you prefer, it's a comfort to know that if you don't want to pay for gas, worry about parking, or if you just don't have a car at all, you can reach these places using Los Angeles' many public transportation systems.

Will Rogers State Park

Will Rogers State Park, just inside the Pacific Palisades, offers beautiful views of the city of Los Angeles and the Pacific Ocean, as the coastline curves southward. The Inspiration Point Trail is easily accessed from the park's entrance, and its highest point gives an unobstructed view of the coastline, while you are surrounded by a wonderful array of plant life.

Along the way, you can branch off onto the Backbone Trail, which spans 68 miles from Will Rogers State Park to Point Mugu in Malibu. Ambitious hikers can make plans to traverse the entire distance, but most simply enjoy a couple miles of the scenery in the Santa Monica Mountains before doubling back.
