Puunoa Beach – Best Beach on Maui for Babies

Puunoa Beach is just north of the stores and restaurants of Lahaina Town, but this beach is still within Lahaina proper. There are two main areas with Lahaina addresses. Lahaina Town is an old whaling village with restaurants and stores. Kaanapali Beach is 3 miles north but it has a Lahaina address. Most of the well-known (expensive) hotels are on Kaanapali Beach (outside of Lahaina Town), but there are also places to stay in Lahaina Town, and if you map them, they will be near Front Street.

Puunoa Beach in Lahaina is called Baby Beach because it has a reef that breaks the waves, which makes a safe baby lagoon. There is no deep drop-off like other beaches and an adult can walk out to the reef with no problem. This is not a main tourist beach and you may run into locals with children.
